Roll up, roll up! Your carnival needs you.

That’s the message from organisers of the 2013 Eastbourne Carnival who are on the lookout for marshals to help out.

Carnival pageant master Dave Cooper said, “We are delighted by the response to the carnival going ahead again this year but we need volunteers to help everything go smoothly.

“The carnival is all about the town and celebrating all what is good within it and this year’s response has, once again, been phenomenal.

“The response following the reintroduction of the carnival in 2012 has been fantastic but the challenge we have is to manage that response.

“It’s a challenge but one that I know we will pull off effectively.”

Road closure marshals are an essential part of the event and the bigger and better the carnival becomes, the more marshals are needed.”

This year’s carnival takes place on Saturday May 25.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the carnival team can visit www.eastbournecarnival.co.uk and register or let MP Stephen Lloyd’s office know on 733030.

All equipment and training required for the role will be supplied by carnival organisers.
