UCKFIELD residents, as well as those visiting the town’s shops and services, are being encouraged to nominate their favourite businesses for the Uckfield Business Awards 2012.
Nomination forms are available in the Civic Centre and at banks and retailers on the High Street and are very simple to complete.
Some already received praise companies for ‘thinking outside the box’, providing ‘great quality’ and going that ‘extra mile’.
“The nominations are really encouraging and show there are plenty of businesses in town offering really excellent products and services,” said Adrian Corbin from Scientifica, who is organising the awards alongside The Marketing Eye.
The awards are supported by Uckfield Chamber of Commerce and a range of sponsors, including the main one Parker Building Supplies.
These are the awards to be voted for by members of the public: Retailer of the Year, Best Hotel/Restaurant/Pub, Young Employee of the Year, Tradesperson of the Year, Customer Service Award, Contribution to the Community Award, and Best Dressed Window.
In total, there are 15, including nine which companies can put themselves forward for, such as Environmentally Sustainable Business and Best New Business.
Entries into the Customer Service Award include PipeDreams and Tressler Coachwork, among others.
“The awards are a great way to get the town fired up,” said Julie Hobbs, from PipeDreams – which sells snow, surf and skate gear in Uckfield High Street.
“Although customer service is something we take very seriously already, completing the awards process has given us the opportunity to really focus on how we do it.”
Closing date for entries is September 7 and the Awards ceremony is on November 1 at the East Sussex National.
