Organisations throughout East Sussex work together to raise awareness of consumer rights issues, to improve access to information and advice and co-ordinate work where needed. Networks like this have been set up around the country, and are known as Consumer Support Networks (CSN).
Alongside all the major national advice services, these organisations range from hospitals, voluntary and community groups, parish councils and housing associations through to the police. Locally, training and expertise is provided via the Trading Standards service.
There are currently approximately 200 members of the CSN and the information distributed to the network reaches more than 22,000 people across East Sussex but we are always looking to expand it further.
If you are interested in joining the East Sussex Consumer Support Network contact Hannah Ede on 01323 464659 or Hannah.Ede@Eastsussex.gov.uk
All members of the network receive free help, support and advice from other organisations, a directory of useful numbers, access to the Consumer Support Network extranet, updates relating to Trading Standards, early warning of scams and rogue traders, free training and education from other member organisations, and direct access to the Trading Standards Consumer Advice Team.
