The ActivatingEastbourne site will also help employers grow their workforce and create work opportunities.

People can find out more and start accessing support now by visiting

For those looking for work, the website – created by the Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce Ltd with £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme – has a full listing of all the support available to jobseekers in finding and increasing their chances of gaining employment.

This includes support to help improve CVs, starting up a business, where to look for work, how to volunteer and training advice.

The website also has a calendar of free and subsided local training, events and jobs fairs.

Employers have access to a full listing of all the business support related to growing their business and improving their workforce development as well as access to support on how to recruit volunteers and unemployed people, and programmes to engage in work related learning activities.

Activating Eastbourne is also piloting every Thursday for the remainder of this year a single and easy point of contact for employers to help them navigate the website and access support based on their labour market needs and corporate social responsibility aims. Email to access this service.

Residents and businesses can also to keep up-to-date on the latest news and opportunities not only on the website but also via Twitter @ActivatingEbJob or @ActivatingEbBiz and Facebook ActivatingEastbourne.

The Chair of Activating Eastbourne Councillor Margaret Bannister said, “There is a wealth of support available to job seekers and employers but they do not necessarily know how to access it.

“This new website lists all the organisations that can help them in one place.”
