A new photography studio has opened in Hailsham town centre offering a range of services from portraits through to weddings and commercial projects.
Harvey Cooper decided to turn his hobby into a business by launching Dragon Studios Photography last month and he already has dozens of bookings from new clients.
He realised he had a flair for photography after buying a camera on eBay and taking snaps of his friends’ families.
From here, the idea of opening his own photographic business grew and he approached the Let’s Do Business Group (LDBG) which offers financial support, training and advice to companies across the south east. Harvey was able to make his business vision a reality thanks to a £6,400 Start-Up Loan.
“At Let’s Do Business, they go through your business plan thoroughly and give you useful suggestions on making your company work,” said Harvey. “The loan is dependent on the viability of your idea, rather than your credit history, which is refreshingly different to the way many high street lenders work.”
LDBG’s Start-Up Loans offer low-cost finance and mentoring support to entrepreneurs with a viable business proposition and is open to those aged 18 and over.
Keir Dellar, head of projects at the LDBG, said, “Harvey came to us with his idea to open his own photographic business and we were delighted to be able to help with finance and advice.
