More than 100 jobs safeguarded as firm finds new premises

MORE than 100 jobs have been safeguarded despite fears the employers were planning to leav Eastbourne.

Capita Business Services had hinted it was preparing to move its base but has signed on the dotted line and will take over an 8,500 sq ft office building in St Anne’s Road.

Anton Bree, of Ross & Co who helped broker the deal, said, “Capita was looking for new premises and there were fears among the Eastbourne business community that they might have to relocate outside of the area.

“It was a major coup for us to be able to secure this office building for their 120 staff and keep them in Eastbourne.”

The three-floor building was vacated in July last year by East Sussex Hospital NHS Trust.

And Capita’s Jim Gibbs said the firm was delighted to be staying in Eastbourne town centre.
