Eastbourne accountant and international speaker Michael Ogilvie will become president of The Professional Speaking Association this month.
Michael, a director with OBC The Accountants, was a founder member of the association in 1999 and will take the helm at the group’s annual convention on October 11.
The Professional Speaking Association is a professional body, for those who speak professionally, which aims to help speakers speak more and speak better.
It has 11 regions throughout the UK and Ireland and gives members access to the Global Speakers’ Federation enabling them to access speaking professionals worldwide.
Michael has spoken internationally in countries as far afield as Iran, Canada and Botswana and regularly speaks to entrepreneurs at conferences on business related matters.
He said, “I was thrilled to be part of this organisation when it was formed because it gives speakers the chance to support each other and share ideas, so I’m really looking forward to my year as president.
“I have a few things up my sleeve for what I hope will be a little bit different and even entertaining!”
Although Michael speaks on a variety of business issues, one of his main themes is to encourage businesses to adopt a “profit culture” when he advises that long term success depends on the whole workforce and not just the management team.
