A new LinkedIn group, set up by The Profit Team at OBC The Accountants, wants to hear from local businesses that stand out from the crowd. Formed just eight weeks ago, the group “Standing out from the crowd – Be M.a.D (Magnificent and Dazzling) not S.a.D (Satisfactory and Dull)” is already attracting international interest including USA, Canada and Australia. But founder Michael Ogilvie, a director with OBC, wants to hear from local businesses whose attitudes and values really stand out.

Michael said, “This group is to share and celebrate great examples of excellent innovative businesses and people whose amazing attitudes and values shine out and dazzle us with their brilliance. We all know about larger businesses like Virgin, Ritz-Carlton and Nordstrom, but there must be thousands of small businesses who are unknown by most, and who we can celebrate in this group. It will probably be about how they deal with customers/clients, but it could also be about the way they deal with team and suppliers – it could be about their design and presentation - their values will normally be reflected in the way they interact with mankind in general and we would love to recognise them, and use them as case studies and references for others fighting to reject mediocrity. Join me and my colleagues in The Profit Team at OBC in our crusade against mediocrity - to help to transform businesses from S.A.D. to M.A.D. (from Satisfactory and Dull to Magnificent and Dazzling).”
