AN EVENT to encourage business deals between local businesses and public sector bodies has been hailed a success by organisers.
The procurement event at the Town Hall was organised by the town’s MP Stephen Lloyd who invited representatives from the public sector including police, ambulance, and fire brigade to meet with small and medium sized businesses along with members of the Chamber of Commerce, Hospitality and the Federation of Small Businesses.
The aim was to encourage the public sector organisations to spend money with local businesses and guide those firms to sell their products to the public sector.
Mr Lloyd said, “I was very pleased the senior buyers from all the public sector bodies which provide services to our town attended my procurement conference.
“The session was open, at times pretty robust, but always constructive. We are all determined to do what it takes to increase business for Eastbourne small and medium sized businesses.”
