Broken down tanker causes serious traffic delays in Polegate

A broken down tanker caused significant delays to traffic on the A27 in Polegate this morning (Monday).

The HGV broke down at the middle of the junction with the A2270 Eastbourne Road, causing major traffic issues around there and on the A22 at around 8am.

Police arrived on scene and towed the vehicle off the road. The junction was reported to be clear at 8.53am.
