The A22 at Wych Cross is currently closed southbound after a serious two car collision this morning (Wednesday).
The accident happened on the busy stretch of road between the A275 Lewes Road junction and the Crowborough Road junction.
Emergency services are at the scene and we will have more on the story during the morning.
A spokesperson at Sussex Police said, “At 4.30am this morning two cars collided on the A22 at Wych Cross just south of the junction with the A275. A woman driving one of the cars was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton to be treated for serious but not life threatening injuries. Several other people received injuries assessed as minor.
“The A22 was closed in both directions but the northbound carriageway was open again by 6.30am.”
