Four men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after a man was reported to have been a bundled into a car in Eastbourne town centre in the early hours of Monday morning.
The incident happened in Burlington Place just before 2.30am on Monday (February 1).
Police have just released details of the incident.
Officers say the 27-year-old victim was found in Meads two hours later having suffered cuts and bruising.
Police say he declined medical treatment.
Officers carried out searches for the vehicle and men.
They later detained four suspects.
A 21-year-old man from Polegate, an 18-year-old man from Eastbourne and a 19-year-old man from Eastbourne, all arrested on suspicion of kidnap and criminal damage, have been bailed until April 5.
A 19-year-old man from Eastbourne, arrested on suspicion of kidnap and criminal damage, has been bailed until April 4.
