BREAKING: Crew rescued from burning ship near Eastbourne

Two people have been rescued from Sovereign Harbour this afternoon (March 21) after a fishing boat was engulfed by flames.

The crew are being taken to shore for medical treatment from paramedics.

The boat is thought to have suddenly caught fire at around 12.30pm.

Another fishing boat quickly helped to rescue the burning ship’s crew after the fire took hold.

Eastbourne Lifeboat attended the scene shortly afterwards to take the injured crew to shore.
