Emergency services from Eastbourne have been called out to Beachy Head after reports of a car going over the cliff this afternoon (November 4).

Helicopters and rescue services were called to the scene at around 3pm.

A 20-year-old man is receiving treatment from emergency services following the fall.

He has been airlifted to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by a coastguard helicopter.

A police spokesman, “The vehicle was found to have landed on the beach area. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was winched up to the coastguard helicopter and flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

“It is not clear at this stage the level of his injuries”

Two fire crews from Eastbourne and two fire officers were called to the scene.
