Body found in Seaford pond identified

A missing man who was found dead in a Seaford pond on Sunday was named by police this week.

Bert Coleman, 95, was reported missing from an address in Sutton Drove, Seaford, at around 10.45am on Sunday.

Police officers searched the area nearby and discovered Mr Coleman’s body in Blatchington Pond.

His body was recovered from the water with the assistance of East Sussex Fire and Rescue at around midday.

Mr Coleman’s family has been informed.

Police say they are not treating his death as suspicious and the case has been passed to the coroner.
