FUNDRAISERS braved some dire weather to take part in the inaugural Chaseley Chase along the prom.

Participants ran, jogged or walked to raise money for The Chaseley Trust and The Friends of Chaseley.

The event, which took place on Sunday (September 9), raised an impressive £1,500 – with more money yet to come in.

The first person back from the shorter 2.5 mile distance was Chaseley’s deputy manager Julie Walker, pushing her young granddaughter Alexandra, and first back from the longer Sovereign Centre distance was Victoria Reffell from Seymour Mullins, who did the six-mile round trip in under an hour.

Four-legged friends were also welcome at the event and their entry fees will be donated to Eastbourne’s Canine Concern.
