EASTBOURNE solicitor Rachel Gales has joined the Rotary Club of Beachy Head as its first female member.

She is pictured being welcomed by current president Mike Garner, following her induction during one of the club’s regular Monday evening meetings at the Chatsworth Hotel on Eastbourne seafront.

Rachel takes the total membership up to 30, during what president Mike described as a particularly exciting time for the club.

“We are in the process of gaining three new members in almost as many months, which is great news as we approach our 25 year milestone,” he said.

“Rachel clearly does wonders for the collective average age of our group, but it is her energy and fresh thinking that we are finding particularly valuable in helping us to develop and increase the club’s contribution within the local community.”
