Eastbourne Auction Rooms will welcome Bargain Hunt to film next month.

The BBC will be filming at the auction house in Finmere Road on June 12 and June 13.

The BBC1 show gives two teams of amateur collectors an hour and £300 to acquire the best bargains at an antiques fair.

The eight teams will then sell their items at Eastbourne Auction Room’s sale on June 13 and compete to make the best profit.

The teams are made up of two people and the BBC will be filming several episodes of Bargain Hunt while in Eastbourne.

Tim Wonnacott is the host of the show and will be at the Eastbourne auction house on the day.

Mr Wonnacott will be joined by the antique’s experts, Philip Serrell and Christina Trevanion, who will be helping the teams to make their selections and predicting how much they will make at auction.

Eastbourne Auction Rooms is no stranger to television appearances. Flog It! filmed at the auction house last year.

Jeannette May from Eastbourne Auction Rooms, is looking forward to the filming of Bargain Hunt.

She said, “It is very exciting and it is going to be different to what we have had here before. Bargain Hunt is a completely different set up.

“It should be a really interesting day.”

Jeannette explained the sale was open to the public and urged people to get their items in for auction by May 16.

She said, “Our motto is ,if in doubt, check it out.

“Sometimes people find their items are very valuable.”

Jeannette said she felt the June 13 antiques and collectables sale would be popular.

She said, “Bring down your items. It should be a good sale because there will be more interest with the filming going on.”

There will be a chance to view items the day before the sale on June 12.
