A lone angler fishing eight miles offshore from Sovereign Harbour found himself needing help from the Eastbourne lifeboat.

The crew aboard the all-weather lifeboat was launched yesterday afternoon to help the owner of seven-metre angling boat, who was unable to start the vessel’s engine after a day’s fishing.

Crewman Trevor Moule was transferred to the disabled vessel to attach a towline and assist the skipper. The vessel was then towed to the safety of the marina.
