A SOLICITORS firm has been baking cakes to raise cash for the Macmillan Sussex Business Challenge.
Macmillan Cancer Support celebrates its centenary in 2011 and has challenged 100 local businesses to raise £1,000 to mark the occasion.
The team at Hart Reade Solicitors eagerly took up the challenge and have now raised an amazing £1,034 for the cancer charity.
Staff from the Hailsham branch (pictured) held a coffee morning which raised an impressive £502.70.
A cake sale was held at the Polegate branch on August 10 and raised £89. And despite the poor weather, another cake sale held by the Eastbourne branch the next day raised £104.50.
Other fundraising events held through the year have included a Grand National sweepstake, a royal wedding tea party, a charity library and a loose change jar.
Nicholas Dennis, senior partner at Hart Reade, said, “We are proud to be taking part in the Macmillan Sussex Business Challenge.
“Having celebrated our centenary in 2010 we are delighted to support Macmillan in celebrating its centenary this year.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support and generous donations in helping us to achieve our goal.”
