EASTBOURNE Borough Council recently scooped a number of awards at an event to celebrate the success of the Future Job Funds.
The fund was set up by the previous government to give young people aged 18-24, who were also unemployed and claiming Jobseekers Allowance, the chance to learn new skills and gain experience by working with local employers.
The council winners included Ellie Robinson, who won the Gold Star Award for best overall employee.
Ania Zydron collected the One for All Award for best team player, Katharyn Owen was runner-up for the Wow!! Award recognising special achievement and Lucy Brown was runner up in the Onward & Upward Award for the employee who has made the most progress.
Eastbourne Borough Council was named Best Partner for a professional approach, supporting the aims and spirit of the Future Jobs Fund.
