The Eastbourne Arts Circle’s Geoffrey Williams Art Bursary award ceremony took place at the Birley Centre last week.

Prizes were presented by Eastbourne Mayor Cllr Janet Coles.

The four main prizes of £250 each went to Alice Collyer and Lauren Hunnisett, both of Ratton School, in the GCSE category, and Rebecca Nurse of Eastbourne College, and Adipa Klomchitcharden of Moira House, in the A level category.

There was also a highly commended category which was awarded to Aimee Pearson, of Eastbourne College, and Madeleine Crosswell of Cavendish School.

The three judges were artists Elda Abramson and Julian Sutherland-Beatson, together with Eastbourne art gallery owner Emma Mason who praised the quality of the art work in her address during the award ceremony.

Organisers have thanked Linda Salway and Zara Crosgrove of Eastbourne College for their assistance in organising and curating the exhibition.
