An Eastbourne charity is almost £2,000 better off after a recent donation.

Staff from Bexhill based insurance broker Hastings Direct has just raised £1,900 for charity Families for Autism.

Workers from the company presented the cheque to the parents and children from the charity at a staff football match at Bexhill United’s grounds.

The children were mascots for the match held between staff from Hastings Direct’s Bexhill and Newmarket offices.

Families with Autism is a growing charity based in Eastbourne which offers support, advice and a voice to families with autistic children. Its club offers regular respite for families who wish to use the club which is staffed by expert, trained personnel

The monies were raised from the staff staging their own mini Olympics this summer and a fete. The donation is to be split to provide additional respite care for ten families, fund extra staff to enable the charity to increase membership of its Saturday club and to help fund a respite Christmas party for the carers.
