AN EASTBOURNE author has donated her children’s books to Friston Ward at Eastbourne DGH.

Claire Carpenter, from Sovereign Harbour, had her first book called Hold on Tight published last year and this Christmas donated copies to the children’s ward.

Claire, a 39-year-old mum-of-two, said, “I have been told there are lots of babies in this year and the families come up and spend Christmas at the hospital so it will be nice for the older brothers and sister to have a book.”

Hold on Tight is part of a series called Yes You Can. Claire says the books are positive and encourage children to hold on to their hopes and dreams.

She visited Friston Ward on Christmas Eve and donated the books to staff.
