EASTBOURNE Borough have signed former loan star Dan Smith on a permanent contract.
The 19 year-old spent three months at Priory Lane on loan from Plymouth Argyle and became a big hit, scoring three goals in his 14 appearances
and weighing in with several assists.
At the end of the season, Argyle decided to release the youngster who was born in Saltash and joined their School of Excellence at the age of 10.
Smith is moving to Eastbourne and besides taking part in the usual twice-weekly training will also be undertaking extra sessions and fitness work designed by Borough manager Garry Wilson and head coach Nick Greenwood.
Smith said, "I want to enjoy my football again.
"I was disappointed when I could not stay until the end of last season.
"I was made so welcome and enjoyed my time so much at the club that
I am happy to be coming back.
"The club showed how much they wanted me by coming in straight away for me when it was known I was leaving Argyle. I can't wait for the season start."
