Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 16-year-old moped rider by an older man driving a black Toyota Prius.

It happened on the A259 Pevensey Bay Road, Eastbourne, on Tuesday, June 30, at 12.10pm.

The victim sustained a blow to the head but no injuries were caused.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his late 40s, 6’ 2”, of stocky build and bald.

The teenager was riding home when a collision occurred between the moped and the car.

The car driver got out of his vehicle and assaulted the moped rider before driving off.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 684 of 30/6.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
