Eastbourne Auction Rooms has seen a surge in European customers snapping-up antiques since Brexit.
In the last Fine Art Antiques and Collectables Sale, post Brexit, the auction house in Finmere Road experienced a surge in both telephone and online bids from Europeans. Many businesses have reported problems due to uncertainty but the auction house seems to be bucking the trend.
The last sale saw a silver and enamel Faberge pen go under the hammer for £3,400 and a 1887 Queen Victoria Jubilee album (pictured above), which included black and white photographic views of Hong Kong, sold for £3,250.
The next valuation day will be held on August 17 from 10am to 4pm.
