AN IMPRESSIVE £17,000 was raised at the annual Lord’s Taverners lunch at the Grand Hotel.

The event was sponsored, for the eighth consecutive year, by Sussex law firm Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors, and was attended by 250 members of the Eastbourne business community and their guests. The event raised £17,000 for the Taverners’ mission to give young people, especially those with special needs, a sporting chance. Guest speaker was former England and Southampton footballer Matt LeTissier who entertained with stories of his careers as a footballer and now as a broadcaster on Sky Sports.

Gaby Hardwicke partner David Getty said, “It’s a great occasion for the business community of the town, and Eastbourne should be proud of the contribution made to this excellent charity. No matter what the state of the economy is, year after year Eastbourne businesses take the chance to show their generosity for the benefit of those who really need it.”
