Ambulance trust narrowly misses out on award

The NHS trust which runs Eastbourne’s ambulances was shortlisted for a national health award.

South East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust this week narrowly missed out on scooping a 2012 Building Better Healthcare Awards after impressing judges with work done at its Ashford ambulance make ready centre.

The Trust was shortlisted in the Best Out-of-Hospital Care Facility Design category but lost out to The Barrhead Health and Care Centre in Glasgow.

Spokesman Geoff Catling said, “It was a huge honour to be named as a finalist for these awards and for the Trust to receive public recognition for its achievement.

“We are very proud of the work by staff at all levels that went into the design and building of this centre which has provided us with a blue print for future make ready centres moving forward.”
