THE PLAYERS at Hove Rugby Club are aiming to prove that size isn’t everything in a bid to win new kits for their team.
Taking part in a national competition, an amazing 16 members of Hove RFC squeezed themselves into a brand new Aveo thanks to local Chevrolet dealer Frosts.
The rules of the competition are simple – the rugby club with the most team players inside the car, with the doors closed, wins new rugby kits for the entire team.
The previous record had been set by 11 rugby players at another club in the UK.
So determined to rise to the challenge, Hove RFC first-team players proved there really is always room for one (or possibly five) more...
Robert Robinson, marketing manager at Frosts, based in Brighton Road, Shoreham by Sea, said, “It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
“I honestly didn’t know if they could beat the current record, but they smashed it!
“We’ve really enjoyed the association with Hove RFC, both the club and Frosts are celebrating their 60th anniversaries this year, so it was obviously a great fit in more ways than one!”
Andy Ward from Hove RFC said, “Thank you so much to all at Frosts.
“We’re really happy that we managed to smash the current record.
“It was huge fun and we’re all proud of this absolutely fantastic achievement!”
