With thousands of visitors expected to Airbourne, people are being reminded that there are parking restrictions in place and that park and ride schemes are available to help cut traffic in and around the town centre.

Many of the roads on the seafront by the Western Lawns are closed off and diversions in place while the four day air show is on.

Motorists can park their cars at the Five Acres field opposite the Sovereign Centre and hop on a bus.

The cost of parking the car is £4 per day and the bus is £2 for adults each day with the first child going free, with subsequent children costing 50p each way.

There is also a similar service from St Andrew’s School on Darley Road. A donation for the parking is required to the Rotary and the same bus charges apply.

Keen cyclists can also make use of the free cycle park in Howard Square on Grand Parade.
