Eastbourne Airbourne will return to the seafront on August 11 to 14 and bucket collectors are needed.

The Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour are once again co-ordinating the annual bucket collections on the seafront.

Representatives from all the Rotary clubs in Eastbourne will help collect money, as well as supporters from the three charities - Children With Cancer, You Raise Me Up and Missing People - which have been selected as recipients for funding for 2016.

Gordon Jenkins from the Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour, said, “There is always room for more people to act as bucket collectors to cover the four days of the air show so if you think you could spare a couple of hours or even more to help ensure the future of this fantastic, free, event please get in touch.”

Last year, more than 200 volunteer bucket collectors were in force during the show, with collections organised by the Rotary Clubs of Sovereign Harbour and Hailsham, along with support from the clubs of Eastbourne, Eastbourne AM, Eastbourne Sovereign and Beachy Head.

Don Perman is organising this year’s collection and looking forward to hearing from volunteer bucket collectors on 01323 479713 or donperman@btinternet.com.

The usual Airbourne attractions including the Red Arrows, Eurofighter Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the King Air will all return to the skies next month for the popular free event.
