TICKETS are selling fast in the Eastbourne Arndale Centre’s annual Win A Car Charity Draw.
The lucky winner will receive a fantastic brand new Suzuki Swift worth £10,000, supplied in conjunction with the Eastbourne Motoring Centre.
In the seven weeks leading up to Christmas a total of 47 charities have been allocated a day for selling tickets and they will each receive the proceeds.
Now in its 12th year, Win A Car has raised an incredible £195,000 for local charities.
Volunteers from Sussex Air Ambulance will be in the centre on Monday raising money to go towards the £5 million annual running costs for the air ambulance that can reach any part of Sussex, Kent or Surrey in under 20 minutes.
Bridget Pepper, from the charity, said, “We provide a helicopter emergency service to sick and injured people throughout the south east of England but we need to raise £5 million every year to keep the helicopter flying.
“We’re really grateful that we can take part in Win A Car and are hoping to sell lots of tickets on the day.”
Eastbourne Arndale Centre manager Bill Plumridge said, “I’m delighted that Win A Car is such a hit with our shoppers. At just £1 it’s a small price to pay for the chance of winning a fantastic new car, yet that money makes a huge a difference to a wide range of charities.”
The charities taking part in Win A Car next week are Samaritans (December 2); Eastbourne Ambulance Community First Responders (December 3); Eastbourne Lions (December 4); Sussex Air Ambulance (December 5); Special Olympics Eastbourne (December 6); Alzheimers Society (December 7) and Chalk Hill Pre School & Toddler Group (December 8).
