EXPERIENCED foster carers who know all about the challenges and rewards of looking after a child in care will be on hand at a drop-in information event organised by East Sussex County Council.
The informal event will be held at the Lansdowne Hotel on Thursday, July 12 (from 5pm-8pm) and is the latest in a series of information and recruitment events organised by the council’s Fostering Service.
Members of the fostering team, recently rated “outstanding” by Ofsted, as well as existing foster carers will be sharing their knowledge and answering questions about one of the most rewarding jobs of all.
They will offer information about all the different types of short term or permanent fostering, as well as fostering for parents and babies, and for disabled children.
Cllr Colin Belsey, the County Council’s Lead Member for Children and Families, said, “Our foster carers come from all backgrounds, circumstances and walks of life so people shouldn’t think that their particular situation rules them out from being a carer.
“The one thing they have in common, of course, is the desire to help a child in need by providing a loving and stable home.”
