Upper Sixth Business students from Bede’s in Hailsham had an action packed day in London experiencing how large companies work to help them with their upcoming A-level Business exams.
The day started out at the Westfield Centre for a morning conference covering topics from corporate culture, the economic climate, leadership and manufacturing in the UK on Tuesday April 28.
Pupil Sam Grant said, “Throughout the session we were able to discuss key topics, take part in interactive quizzes and also study real life companies such as Uber, Siemens, Amazon and Thomas Cook.
“The sessions were hugely beneficial and the discussions were all linked to key topics that we had studied, delivered in an extremely informative and engaging manner.”
The students also visited ASOS where they had a bespoke talk from the design and purchasing teams.
Sam added, “The speakers had genuine passion and it was really interesting to put into context many of the things that we had studied including how suppliers are sourced, the importance of critical paths in the fast paced design industry and also the importance of segmenting and understanding your market.”
