Abba-fabba time ahead

CALLING all Dancing Queens and Fernandos, Björn Again – arguably the best ABBA tribute act on the planet, are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.

And they are bringing the biggest ABBA party in the world to the Congress Theatre on June 25 at 7.30pm.

Bjrn Again was created in 1988 by Australian musician and manager Rod Leissle, and it quickly achieved worldwide cult status.

This new two-hour anniversary show promises to be the ultimate Super Trouper performance, and will include hits: I Have a Dream, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Honey Honey, and Thank you for the Music.

The band has performed all over the world, in 57 countries, to massive critical acclaim, including performing at the Reading Festival with Nirvana.

They have been hailed as the most popular and successful act of its type in the world and are endorsed by Benny Andersson and Bjrn Ulvaeus.

Manager and musician Rod had previously been working in metallurgical research but at the age of 29 and inspired by the legendary New Zealand band Split Enz's musicianship and onstage theatrics decided on a career change.

He wanted to start a band which would revisit the music and fashion of the 1970's, and the rest, as they say, is history.
