A YOUTH shelter is being proposed for Willingdon to tackle the problem of teenagers congregating in areas such as Freshwater Square.

David Hancock, a prospective East Sussex County Councillor for Willingdon, Jevington and Polegate, has been visiting areas, such as Huggetts Lane Recreation Ground, which could house such a shelter, working in partnership with Wealden district councillor Ron Cussons.
Shelters, which already exist elsewhere in East Sussex, provide young people with a place of their own to socialise with friends, which can be easily opposed, unlike informal gatherings on street corners or at bus stops.
