A WOMAN from Polegate died in a three-vehicle smash on the A22 in Uckfield on Tuesday afternoon.

Teresa Morgan, 51, of Brookside Avenue, had been driving north at 3.25pm in a silver Vauxhall Vectra when it collided with a Leyland Daf tipper which was being driven south by a 64-year-old man from Hailsham.
The tipper then collided with a Ford F
iesta van driven by a 48-year-old London man who had been travelling behind the Vectra.
Police were called to the scene, north of the roundabout which takes drivers into Uckfield town centre.
Teresa Morgan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters from Uckfield and Lewes attended and the bypass was re-opened to through traffic at 8.18pm.
A neighbour said Teresa was an 'ideal neighbour' and had lived in Brookside Avenue with her husband for about 10 years.
The neighbour added, "Teresa and her husband were a nice couple and always friendly. I used to go out and have a chat to them."
Neighbours noticed that police were outside the house on Tuesday afternoon.
The neighbour added, "It's an absolute tragedy and I can't believe it."
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call 0845 6070999 quoting Operation Lifford.
