A TOWN centre pub is launching its own cask ale festival.

Until May 28, The Buccanneer will have a minimum of eight English cask ales, as we as the opportunity to sample some locally brewed ales and national beers.
Landlord Simon Dodds will be running a Top of the Hops scheme enabling customers to vote f
or the ales they want to try.
The ales with the most votes from customers will be listed, during the festival, alongside the landlord's choices. The most popular ales will also become regular features on the hand pulls.
Featured ales will include Everards Tiger Best Bitter (4.2 per cent ABV) and Wychwood Brewery's Hobgoblin (4.5 per cent ABV).
Every week Simon will also be giving his own recommendations.
He said, "We're really excited about the English ale festival, a great way to experiment trying out new ales.
"My current favourite is Timothy Taylor's Landlord — a smooth, malty, light beer with a bitter/sweet aftertaste."
The Compton Street pub will also be giving out free English Ale Festival newsletters. Showcasing the history of ale and the brewing process, customers will also be able to enjoy food & ale matching recommendations.
