The Sovereign Saints Football Club in Eastbourne has been given a cash boost of £500 from Eastbourne police officers.
Neighbourhood specialist officer PC Keith Rockingham presented the cheque to the under-sevens' manager and coach of Sovereign Saints Football Club Simon Worsell recently.

The money was secured from the Police Property Fund by Kathy Nevill and will be used to buy much-needed kit for the team along with training equipment.

The club, which has been running for four years and has more than 100 players, caters for all ages of children, boys and girls from under six to 13-year-olds.

The club has 10 teams which compete in local leagues and train at Hampden Park every Saturday morning between 9.30am and 11am.

Anyone interested in helping out at the club should contact the club chairman Paul Garnell on 07778 557538 or via email at paul.garnell@landg.com
