Park stabbing: man on bail

A 24-YEAR-OLD man arrested in connection with a stabbing in a town centre park last week has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The 36-year-old victim, who police believe knew his attacker, was stabbed in the stomach in St Anne's Park, off The Avenue, after an argument broke out between a group of people at around 1pm on October 1.

The victim was rushed to Eastbourne DGH with life threatening injuries and yesterday his condition was described as stable.

Eastbourne CID is leading the investigation into the attack and forensic teams were called to the scene that afternoon and remained on site late into the night.

A 24-year-old man was arrested, questioned by police and released on police bail and another man is still be hunted by police.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Eastbourne CID and anyone with any information should call DS James Pateman on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 753 of October 1 and Operation Dalham.
