PEVENSEY Parish Council is hoping to move parish boundaries, giving it control over an area currently governed by Westham Parish Council.

Chair of Pevensey Parish Council, Cllr John Grout, raised the matter at a council meeting on Tuesday evening (January 6).
Cllr Grout said Pevensey's parish finished at Timberlaine Road and the stretch of the A259 Eastbourne Road between Martello B
each Caravan Park and Bay View Camping and Caravan Park was part of Westham's parish.
Cllr Grout said, "Geographically, on the map, it is labelled as Pevensey and it is the entrance to our village from Eastbourne so it seems logical.
"Westham Parish Council has a very big parish and I understand it may struggle to manage it in the way it would like at times."
Cllr Grout said many residents in the area were unaware that stretch of the A259 was governed by Westham Parish Council and said Westham parish councillors did not take much interest in that particular area.
Pevensey parish councillors agreed to submit their proposal to Wealden District Council and inform Westham Parish Council of their intention.
Alison Coode, clerk for Westham Parish Council, said she had not officially received Pevensey's proposal but was aware of the plans. She said Westham parish councillors would discuss the matter and respond in due course.
