Friday saw a major fund-raising exercise around Eastbourne as the Save the DGH Fighting Fund Battle Bus toured the town collecting donations from businesses and others.

The money will help fund a Judicial Review challenging the Primary Care Trusts decision to downgrade Eastbourne's maternity unit.
There was another offbeat line in fund-raising in the afternoon when local public relations firm Cobb PR invited clients and friends in for cake and coffee - served by staff dressed up as nurses.
Visitors paid a £5 donation and were greeted by Cobb lovelies in matching outfits. Less appealing, but deserving credit for bravery, was boss Tim Cobb who also became a 'nurse' for the day.
