A HUGE bank of online information is available exclusively to library members in East Sussex.
At the touch of a button, people can get help with research and homework and access to a wealth of information covering subjects including business, history, general interest and music.
Library members get free and exclusive access to major ref
erence works from the comfort of their own home, office or local library and all they need is a PIN.
Councils across the South East are joining together this week to promote the online resources. East Sussex County Council is part of the group that is highlighting the online services available to library members.
Councillor Bob Tidy, Lead Member for Community Services at the County Council, said, "If you're fed up with not finding what you want on the net or not being sure of its accuracy or reliability then why not try this service?
"All you have to do is join your local library and get a PIN. It's free and easy to join and you can then access a huge bank of online information for business, research, homework or general interest from a reliable and trusted source."
Library members have access to the full content of sites that search engines may not be able to reach.
A world of e-books and newspapers is included such as the Oxford English Dictionary, Dictionary of National Biography, Who's Who & Who Was Who from 1898, The Times from 1785-1985, National Newspapers, Kompass Business Directory, Encyclopedia Britannica, Debrett's, Grove Music and many more from publishers such as Oxford, Penguin, Thames & Hudson, Bloomsbury and McGraw-Hill.
