A tree surgeon killed in a horrific chainsaw accident has been named.
Scott Donnison, 28, was working 40 feet up a tree at a house in Park Gate, Hailsham, on Wednesday morning when the accident happened.

He was wearing all the correct safety harnesses and had a helmet on.

Despite the efforts of a paramedic team
from South East Coast Ambulance Service and fire-fighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Mr Donnison was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed.

It is believed Mr Donnison, who lived in Brighton, was working for Polegate-based firm Allan Russell Tree Surgery.

An inquest was opened today and adjourned.

The Health and Safety Executive will also be carrying out a full investigation.

my deepest sympathy goes to this poor mans family, I know the emergency services did their best in a confined area. Everyone helped as much as they could and tried to rescue him immediately. My prayers go to his wife and family
