A WELL-KNOWN figure in local theatre has passed away.

Anne Caffyn, was the production secretary for the operatic section of Eastbourne Operatic and Dramatic Society.
She passed away on Wednesday after being taken ill suddenly.
EODS is in the middle of working on a production of Oliver, and Anne had been organising the administration side.
Pamela Kuhn, who had known Anne for 22 years, said, "She came to every rehearsal. The company has decided to do an even better show for Anne. She was a lovely, caring lady and will be greatly missed."
Tony Harris, 47, from Hastings and a member of EODS, said, "She was such a central figure to EODS. It's such a loss. She is the glue that holds the society together."
A full tribute will appear in next week's Herald.
