What are the most important issues for children and young people in East Sussex — that's the question being posed to parents, carers, children and young people in the county.
The question is being asked as part of a review of the key document that sets out the priorities for children and young people in East Sussex and what the various agencies are doing to make life better for them.

The document being reviewed is called the Children and Young People's Plan and it was published in March 2006 by the Children's Trust — a partnership of all the agencies in the county including East Sussex County Council that work with children and young people.

A new plan is now being prepared for 2008-11 and the Children's Trust wants to make sure that the ideas and priorities it contains are the right ones.

Feedback from parents and carers will help develop the new plan and shape services provided in the county over coming years.

As part of the review an extensive questionnaire has been circulated to people who work with children and young people, and the county's Youth Cabinet which surveyed young people on their issues as part of its election in at the end of 2007 has been asked for its input.

Any parent who hasn't received a postcard through their child's school can complete one at their local library.

More information on the Children's Trust and the Children and Young People's Plan is available on the trust's website.

On the website parents can find the 17 top priorities that are being suggested for 2008-11 and can give their feedback on them.
