Children take up baking

Montessori school youngsters helped make biscuits and cakes at the Willingdon Trees Community Centre, ensuring guests were fed well at a Community Cuppa event.
The youngsters proved skilful in the kitchen as our photo shows.

The nursery is in an adjoining area to the community centre on Maywood Avenue and the pupils felt it was only polite to offer refreshments to their neighbours, who are residents visiting the centre.

The children cook every day but it's not all sticky things.

Healthier options such as oat cakes and quiche also appear on the menu.
