THREE medical wards at the DGH are still shut to new admissions after staff and patients were struck down with a diarrhoea and vomiting bug.
Cuckmere, Folkington and Polegate wards were shut to new admissions last week after 34 patients developed symptoms.

Hospital staff put in place measures to contain the virus but 11 staff from the three wards were off sick with the bug as well.

The wards were still closed to new admissions as the Herald went to press on Thursday morning and a DGH spokesman said patients were still suffering symptoms.
