A TOWN centre bar which caused controversy when it began a promotion offering free vodka to women has created a new promotion for men.
Minnesota Jax, in Seaside, started its 'free vodka and a splash' promotion for women in June and is due to give away free beer to men for one night only —during a World Cup qualifying game in October.

Owner of the bar Darren Bush said people have complained that the women only promotion is sexist, so he will be giving away Coors Light — an American beer — to men for free.

When the news of the vodka giveaway first broke, Chief Inspector Dick Coates said he 'actively discourages such activities'.

Mr Bush said there has been 'no problems' with the free vodka promotion, which continues every Friday and Saturday night.

The promotion for men is on Wednesday October 15, from 6pm to 11pm.
